VA Medical Center Emergency Department Expansion

This approximately 27,000 SF, one story plus mechanical penthouse expansion project serves as the replacement for the smaller existing emergency department currently located at the south side of level 1 of the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) main hospital building. The new emergency department extends south from the south side of the existing hospital adjacent to the existing emergency department. The mechanical scope includes additional VAV Air Handler, VAV Boxes, Fan Coils, Heating Hot Water and Domestic Hot Water systems with Steam Heat Exchanger.

Our scope provided a Distech Controls Bacnet control system to tie the new HVAC equipment at the ED expansion into the existing BMS system. This included coordination with the VA campus’s Service Provider to integrate into the existing network and graphics at the main hospital. Scope also included Ante Room Pressure Alarms.
